Besides the debilitating pain, perhaps the most frustrating thing that people complain about Fibromyalgia is that to function, they need to rely on Fibromyalgia medication for the rest of their lives.

So can you use CBD be used as Fibromyalgia medication? If so, how should it be taken?

Keep on reading to learn more about CBD oil for Fibromyalgia so you can get back to enjoying life without relying on medications forever!

How CBD Can Help with Fibromyalgia

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a chemical compound that is derived from cannabis. It comes without the Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), so there are no psychoactive effects, just strictly pain relief.

CBD is known to reduce inflammation, help ease the symptoms of depression, assist your body in regulating body temperature, and dealing with pain perception by activating serotonin receptors.

Fibromyalgia is a neuropathic pain disorder, causing people to lose sleep, restless leg syndrome, extreme pain all over the body, anxiety, and mental fatigue.

CBD has been proven to help neuropathic pain. This makes it a possible replacement for typical Fibromyalgia medications such as Cymbalta and Lyrica, both of which have harsh side effects and little relief of pain.

Will it Pass the Test?

The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has not approved the medicinal use of CBD oil for Fibromyalgia yet. However, it has recently been approved for treating epilepsy and Multiple Sclerosis.

The only problem is that there is a lot of money in pain medications. Every year, there is over $17.8 billion spent on just pain medications alone. Could the reason why it has not been approved be because of how much money Big Pharma could lose?

A recent study tested CBD on its effects for neuropathic pain relief, and it passed on seven of the eleven tests. This is more than enough proof that CBD has incredible benefits as a Fibromyalgia medication.

How to Take CBD For Fibromyalgia

There are many ways to take CBD, and each way provides a different type of pain relief:

  • Edibles- foods cooked with the cannabis plant, effects last up to 6 hours.
  • Oils- can be taken orally, or dissolved under the tongue
  • Topicals- can be added to creams or balms and applied to the skin for external relief.
