In the midst of fashion month, it can feel like you’re taking in looks and trends at breakneck speed. From runway shows to street style images, round ups and call outs—you hardly have time to digest it all.
Now that we’ve had a few weeks to process everything—we’re starting to assess what we saw, what we loved, and what we’d rather forget. Firmly in the plus column is one of our favorite fall handbag trends: the quirky clutch.
Carrie Bradshaw introduced many of us to the bedazzled quirky clutch via the Judith Leiber handbag Mr Big gave her—shaped like a swan. While the style wasn’t for her, we can’t help but love the major dose of character and life that a unique bag can give your everyday outfit or going-out ensemble.
Most notably of late, we’ve seen tons of clutches in the shape of books from designers like Olympia Le Tan and Kate Spade, giving us a new reason to love classic titles like Heidi and The Age of Innocence.
The key to making a quirkly clutch look cool (and not totally crazy) is to carry it with an otherwise pared down outfit. Whether it’s emblazoned with words, resembles a citrus fruit or happens to be shaped like a parrot—you’re guaranteed to turn a few heads and yes, start a few conversations with one of these whimsical bags.
