The headlines Chopard is making now have nothing to do with missing jewels and everything to do with an amazing step toward sustainable luxury. It has partnered with Livia Firth, founder of the Green Carpet Challenge, to launch The Journey, its first two Green Carpet Collection pieces. The diamond bracelet and earrings, set in sustainably mined gold with diamonds from certified sources, made their debut on none other than Marion Cotillard earlier today in Cannes.
Chopard now stands alongside Gucci, which was awarded the GCC Brand Mark for its zero deforestation leather handbags collection, in their commitment to sustainability at the luxury level.
Having proven that beautiful jewelry and ethical and socially responsible practices can exist, hopefully more will follow Chopard’s lead.
