There’s something a little unfair about seeing fall clothes in February. Unlike the September spring collections, these shows come at a time when we still have months and months to go before fall 2013. And wouldn’t we rather be wearing these cool new things going down the runway? Yes, what a tease.
But who says you can’t take a little inspiration from the New York shows and apply it to your winter wardrobe? For instance, jacket-on-jacket layering is a great way to transition from wearing your winter coat. And speaking of coats, next season’s proportions are oversized. Quick fix: borrow your boyfriend’s and if you need to give yourself a little shape, belt it. After all, if there was one overarching theme this New York Fashion Week, it was inherent wearability.
So in that spirit, scroll through to see what designers have in store for you next fall—and see what you can start wearing while we wait for spring. —Megan Hayes(@_mshayes)
