Spring Fashion Trends for Every Shape—Our guide to how to dress for your body type this season.

Navigating the spring fashion trends can be difficult enough without worrying which ones are actually going to look good on us. It doesn’t help that they’re going down the runway on models who certainly aren’t wondering if that printed dress is going to make them look fat.

Before you get so discouraged you stick to last year’s summer staples (which begs the question is it worse to wear something that is out or ill-fitting? More on that later.), I’ve put together a guide to how to dress for your body type this spring.

To key to look your best is playing up your assets while minimizing your problem areas. For example, someone with an apple shape is typically wider at the waist. If that’s you, try this season’s mod trend. A short dress will take the focus off your middle and highlight your legs instead.

More of an hourglass? So were Hitchcock’s heroines and their look is trending this season. Show off your slim center with a belt and choose a skirt or dress that hugs your curves. The eyewear is optional.

If you thought the bandeau top trend was strictly for the stick-thin, think again. It can also be a great way for pear-shaped women to call attention to their upper half.
