Picture spring for a minute. Cherry blossoms blooming, bees buzzing and warm winds on mild days. With a winter like we've had, a girl has to dream, right? Surely yes, but the reality is that it's going to rain—often, and probably a lot. And since we can't control the weather, we might as well play dress up. Rainy day outfits don't have to be a shleppy affair, trust us.

First of all, let's do away with those ubiquitous tall Hunter boots in green and black. Snooze. Change it up with a pair of stark-white wellies paired with DKNY's futuristic PVC coat, or try a pair of Karl Lagerfeld rubber boots that look more biker than all-weather. We also love the bold neon camo print of Valentino's reversible shell (paired with a chic, covert black umbrella from Barneys, naturally).

We're all for cute umbrellas and stylish rain coats. Unlike your winter coat and heavy boots, your lightweight jackets and trench coats get almost year-round wear, and if you don't leave it in a restaurant, you'll end up using that printed umbrella for months.

With showers in the forecast for the whole weekend in New York City, what better time to treat yourself to a sleek slicker or water-resistant wide brim hat
