When we see the spring shows come down the runways in September, we have unrealistic dreams of warmer days that are too far off. In February, as fall's offerings are paraded before us, it's almost cruel. With so much winter ahead, we can easily see ourselves swathed in the thoughtful layers, oversize coats and luxe furs—and yet. We'll have to wait another six months until the buyers have made their selections and the best of the runways is available to shop.
Well, we decided we couldn't wait. We combed our favorite retailers to find hints of Fall 2014's trends in the current season. Cozy up in an oversize knit like those we saw from The Row, a fringed skirt like the one swishing forth from Michael Kors, and Stuart Weitzman's flat, leather, over-the-knee boots will make a suitable stand-in for those at Alexander Wang.
Naturally, we couldn't find a glamorous piece of eveningwear that came close to the childhood whimsy displayed on those from Rodarte—so we suppose a T-shirt with Luke Skywalker emblazoned on it will have to do... For now.
