For many people, Valentine's Day can end up feeling like New Year's Eve: a whole lot of build-up for a pretty average night. However, if you're aiming to buck that tradition and make this holiday special, why not start with your wardrobe? As we like to say, an amazing night starts with an amazing dress. Or shoes. Or both.

While some might think it's corny, we fully support a festive Valentine's Day wardrobe that centers around pink, red, black and white. Make it fashion-forward by mixing in prints like leopard and floral. When pairing your shoes and dress, look for cuts and colors that compliment each other but aren't too matchy-matchy. For example, we love the pairing of a cherry red Rag and Bone dress with deep red velvet pumps from Charlotte Olympia. (Monochromatic dressing is chic in any shade.)

The best pairing will be the one that makes you feel like a million bucks, so we found 10 different dresses and killer shoes to accompany them, all in a variety of silhouettes and price points. Whether you'll be decked out in Zara or Balenciaga, your amazing night starts here.
