Isn't it always the luck that some of the most covetable things in fashion are the most impractical? Take, for example, anything and everything white. A perfect white coat, stark white jeans, ivory stiletto pumps, a wedding gown… You get what we mean. And yet, we can’t get enough of layering up all-white outfits this winter.

The concept of winter whites can feel more abstract than realistic at first, but it’s not as daunting as it seems. We love to mix washed out white with brilliant ivory, shades of cream and pale pink, too. Light hues and pastels are a welcome break from all that black, and look most current in a monochromatic look.

Start with the basics, like skinny jeans and soft knits in cream and white. Add a shearling coat and mirrored sunglasses or even a cashmere beanie. This time of year you can also go with a puffy down vest or coat in white as your cozy top layer. For a little icy sparkle, look for lucite, pearl and crystal baubles to complete your outfit.
