Sofia Coppola Lives Out Dream of Guest Editing W Magazine
It should come as no surprise that the stylish director responsible for making every woman wish they had Marie Antoinette's wardrobe would have an affinity for fashion photography and magazines. Now, Sofia Coppola has put those skills to the test by guest editing the May issue of W Magazine.
The heir to the Coppola throne said she always dreamt of having the opportunity and Stefano Tonchi was all too happy to use her strong "editing skills, fresh eye and enthusiasm," according to WWD.
The "Summer Pleasures" issue features many of Coppola's friends including "Marie Antoinette" star Kristen Dunst, who talks about nudity in films and her personal style icons.
Is Coppola ready to dump Hollywood for a permanent career switch? Not just yet. Her take on "The Little Mermaid" is in pre-production with rumors of an Andrej Pejic cameo. She may be living an editorial fantasy but she did note the amount of work that went into a single issue.
"I'm surprised how they do it every month!" she said.
