Celebrity Coachella Outfits Are Veering Toward Hippie Halloween
Tis the season for celebrities to shed their red carpet-ready skin to reveal layers of lace, crocheted knits and all types of destroyed denim. The Coachella desert inspires a faux laid-back uniform that street style cameras capture with vigor. We can't help but critique.
On the best-dressed end were Coachella regulars like Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Kate Bosworth who kept their outfits thematic without being costume-y. We were eyeing Rosie's flower-print demin cutoffs, but also couldn't help but wonder how her hair stayed so smooth and shiny in the desert heat. She must have used our olive oil secret. On stage, sisters Beyonce and Solange Knowles stole the show in equally stylish ensembles and matching wild curls. On point.
Meanwhile, others chose to go a more literal route. Vanessa Hudgens went barefoot one day, then hid her face behind a black scarf and sunglasses another. Kendall Jenner at one point sported a traditional Indian wedding nose ring with a crop top and denim shorts and then switched to a floor-length black lace caftan the next. We assume they both wanted to cover their Coachella bases.
Pharrell Williams and Jared Leto unsurprisingly took the lead as stylish men at the festival with each sporting their signature look (see: hat, ómbre). Check out these looks and quite a few more in our roundup of the best and craziest Coachella outfits from weekend one.
