We’ve had plenty a tech-related discussions—from the best apps in general to work-friendly ones to those that make navigating Fashion Week easier. We even covered matching your iPhone cases to your wardrobe—because we can’t not care about that, now can we?
But we digress.
A recent WSJ piece highlighted a growing tech trend we must’ve missed: the most expensive apps. While these aren’t technically million-dollar apps, they certainly would be if Apple’s max price didn’t cap at $999.99. And while WSJ reports that there were 30 of these as of January 30th, we rounded up a few more of the most expensive apps based on specific needs—from the sensible (BarMax promises the highest pass result rates for that looming bar exam) to the extravagant (VIP Black lets you live like a Rockefeller—mostly because you practically have to be a Rockefeller to tap into its luxury concierge and members-only offerings). We even found an app that keeps an eye on your front yard and that pesky neighbor who steals your morning paper. While the app itself is free, the yearly membership will cost you $990. Pretty pricey, no? Scroll through the slideshow above to see our four favorites. And, if they’re in your price range, shop some of the most expensive apps now. —Alex Sweterlitsch (@sweterlitsch)
