Moncler's 60th Anniversary
Moncler celebrated its 60th anniversary last night by transforming 1111 Lincoln Road—a concrete parking garage with a panoramic view of South Beach—into a winter wonderland that felt more like St. Moritz than South Florida. The French luxury brand used the renowned Herzog & de Meuron-designed structure to stage their event, decking the raw space with plush white carpeting and white leather couches and coffee tables scattered throughout, creating an intimate and relaxed environment that was worlds away from the Basel madness going on seven floors below. The atmosphere was perfected by ethereal music, fog machines and lighting, all of which created a mystical space for guests to wander through as they marveled at the view. The international feel was heightened by the fact that you heard no fewer than seven different languages, this being a testament to the brand’s legendary heritage and global presence. Many dinner attendees donned the gifted signature Moncler hooded capes over their carefully chosen ensembles despite the 80-degree heat, and every cocktail guest mused as to how they could get their hands on one of their own. One innovative partygoer even fashioned his into a turban. Many guests even smuggled out the Moncler MonDuck figures that adorned the coffee tables as coveted souvenirs. And Loree Rodkin brought the sparkle, pairing her Moncler cape with a bejeweled ring on every finger, and a frenzy of flashbulbs announced the arrival of the Hilton clan, each sister with a beau in tow. The birthday celebration continues today with the official opening of the Moncler boutique at the Bal Harbour Shops, just in time for the Miami crowd to shop for their Aspen wardrobe. Pharrell Williams will be on hand to sign copies of his new book, Places and Spaces I’ve Been, and if last night’s party was any indication, it will be an event to remember. —Sarah Arison (@saraharison)
