Aveda's Hand Relief ($21) is one of the few lotions with exfoliating properties (found in the formula's fruit acids) which helps to get rid of dead skin cells and dry patches with particular efficiency.
C.O. Bigelow's Chapped Hands Remedy ($11) is the ultimate treatment when it comes to braving the winter cold. Its high Glycerin content locks in moisture that will keep your hands smooth for days to come.
CND's Almond Hydrating Lotion ($5) has become something of a deskside staple at Lifestyle Mirror HQ. Its lovely almond scent combined with jojoba oil and Vitamin E make it an ideal wintertime companion.
Once on a trip to France, I asked the woman at the pharmacy for her best hand treatment. She handed me Caudalie's Hand and Nail Cream ($15) and I've been using it ever since. The bonus: It's lovely for the cuticles. ($15)
One of our favorite manicurists—Ms. Dawn Sterling—swears by Dior's Crème Abricot Fortifying Cream ($26) for high shine and health on nails and cuticles. And with a client list that includes Alicia Keys and Mary J. Blige, we're going to take her word for it.
John Master's Organics Cacao and Cupuacu Hand & Body Butter ($32) comes highly recommended by some of Lifestyle Mirror's favorite beauty experts—Katey Denno, Jenna Hipp, and Madeline Poole among them. A little bit goes a very long way with this super-rich formula, so you'll enjoy the decadent smell of cacao and the delicious hydrating benefits of this product for a very long time. (I've had mine for a year now!) It's our #1 hall-of-fame hand product... "hands" down.

10 Best Winter Hand Creams
On the walk to work this morning, it became suddenly and horribly apparent that winter had officially arrived in New York City. Met with a blast of below-20 degree temperatures (with wind chill) I was at least thankful I decided on an ultra-rich facial moisturizer (Sunday Riley's Juno) to keep my skin protected. But soon enough, I found myself jamming my freshly manicured hands into my pockets, praying that Winter wouldn't find his way to my fingers. Of course, a ten-block-walk without proper cold weather accessories took its toll almost immediately. As soon as I got into the office, I began pumping CND's Almond Hydrating Lotion repeatedly, moisturizing incessantly until the feeling was restored in my hands.
It's become something of an office duty to stock an arsenal of reliable, effective hand creams for the winter-weary. Luckily, a few years of trial and error (as well as a couple of recommendations from manicurist friends) has yielded plenty of options in a very diverse price range. Flip through the slideshow above to shop our top 10 hand creams (ranked in order) and pick the one that's right for you. —Phillip Picardi (@pfpicardi)
