BODY COUNT: 7 BEST NATURAL BODY CREAMS AND OILS

When summer rolls around, we suddenly remember the importance of lotion. Exposing ourselves—arms, legs, abdomens, etc.—is always a fantastic impetus to get our skin into shape. This weekend, I wore shortsleeves during the daytime and I suddenly felt my fingers creeping up along my upper arms, feeling a dry patch here or there, or pesky tiny bumps. The warm weather was a gentle reminder that I needed to be more diligent with my exfoliation. So out came the dry brush and my new favorite Yes to Cucumbers body wash, alternating each day with Espa's Invigorating Body Reviver for a bit of extra cleansing. (After I was finished complaining, a friend told me I sounded like an old woman. Duly noted.)

But, I'm not alone. The summer's fashions—side-boob and butt-baring clothing, sleeveless dresses, and sexy cutouts—call for well-maintained skin. Just look at Michelle Obama or Jenn Aniston's arms—they're not only toned but... they glow! But that's okay because scented lotions, body washes, scrubs, etc. are probably already piled up in your shower. You're probably even using drugstore products since, hey, it's not your face, right? What does it really matter?

But going the all-natural route only makes sense—if you spend all your time worrying about choosing kale salads, curbing your gluten intake, or booking your weekly SoulCycle classes, it only makes sense to choose ethical, organic products.

The seven options here range in price and type. They cover all your bases, from proper exfoliation to cleansing and treatment. No more skipping your lotion after you get out of the shower. Keep it on your sink, towel off, and apply liberally all over. That way, it'll absorb while you get ready so you don't feel greasy.

The best thing about investing in a new product (especially in a scent you love, like Rodin's gorgeous jasmine scent) is mixing it with a liquid bronzer, illuminator, or tinted loose powder. You can rub it on your arms and legs for a really sheer, dewy glow. (Hint: This is also a great way to fake a little summer tan.)
