For the Tibi woman, the call of the open road can’t be ignored.
For the brand’s recent SS14 runway show, Jin Soon Choi created a nail design that symbolized the traveler in all of us. The inspiration for the collection is the idea of roads trip in different parts of the world, from Asia to Arizona. The show played off the notion of adventure, the environment’s natural beauty and the grit of what it actually takes to get to a destination.
Choi devised a nail design that expressed a visual language developed by American travelers who lived a nomadiclife in the 1920s. These signs were used to help fellow travelers navigate.
Even if you’re not planning to go that far this season, here’s how to get Tibi’s nail art look:
1. File and clean nails, removing all traces of polish. 2. Apply JINsoon Power Coat to strengthen and prime nails. 3. Apply two coats of off-white/blue-gray nail polish. (The shade Choi used was from her upcoming JINsoon Spring 2014 Collection.) 4. Once nails are dry, take a thin nail art brush and dip end in JINsoon Obsidian. Carefully paint a straight line vertically down nail on middle finger. 5. Repeat step 3 on remaining nails, but paint horizontal lines through middle of nails. 6. Finish by applying a single coat of JINsoon Top Gloss.
