Model Annabelle Dexter-Jones goes bare-faced at the beach. If there were ever an argument for leaving your hairbrush at home, this would be it.
Barbara Palvin steps out of the shower and in front of the camera. No makeup necessary.
We're in awe of Cindy Crawford's ageless beauty (she was 43 at the time of this editorial in Harper's Bazaar by Peter Lindbergh).
Demi Lovato Instagrammed this makeup-free #selfie (we expect no less from you, Demi) with the caption, "Ladies, be brave today.. take off your make-up and stop using those filters!! WE are beautiful!!!" We applaud her openness (and her unbelievable brows).
Jessica Simpson went makeup and Photoshop-free for this Marie Claire cover in May 2010, demonstrating the brightening effect of a genuine smile.
If you want to take this bare-faced thing to a whole new level, we recommend taking a page out of Kesha's book and baring everything.
Casting director Douglas Perrett photograhed a makeup-free Miranda Kerr early in her career. We have to say it, this Australian beauty is superhuman.
Tyra Banks rocks glasses and a natural glow on a morning drive.
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley channels that Angel allure without a stitch of makeup on.
Taylor Swift chooses an eye-defining doughnut over her signature winged liner in this shot. We think she wears it quite well.

Grin and Bare It
Ten Celebrity Shots Sans Makeup
GRIN AND BARE IT: TEN CELEBRITIES WITHOUT MAKEUP
As much as we love a spritz of thermal water on a hot summer day, there’s one thing we find even more refreshing: celebrities without makeup. When Katy Perry recently landed the July Vogue cover, she appeared in a behind-the-scenes video for the shoot, as stylists and makeup artists bustled around working their magic. But it was that first shot of her that really stood out to us, bare-faced and absolutely stunning. “I have alright lips and alright cheekbones, but they’re no show-offs,” she says. We beg to differ.
It would verge on pointless to say we would happily forego makeup every day. We love beauty products, or as Katy Perry puts it in the aforementioned clip, “I love a good paint.” A world without our favorite red lipsticks and miracle-working concealers is not a place where we would ever want to live. There’s a special pleasure in taking the time to primp every morning, to indulge in the pastime of unapologetic vanity.
All that said, even the most fervent makeup addict could use a break every now and then, if only to get properly reacquainted with her naked face. We firmly believe that natural beauty is one thing everyone already has. And the best part? It’s free, so you have no excuses not to try it at least once. Thanks to a small no makeup-makeup movement from a few years ago, and the instant nature of social media outlets, we were able to put together a roundup of celebrities and supers who seem to feel the same way, wearing their makeup-free faces with finesse. From model Barbara Palvin’s glowing post-shower Instagram to Jessica Simpson’s Marie Claire cover, these women prove that makeup isn’t a prerequisite for beauty. Just ask Kesha, who cheerfully brushes her teeth in her birthday suit, in what might be our favorite shot of the bunch.
